Personal

Andaz 5th Ave | New York, NY

I’m so blessed to have some of the best clients in the business. I love traveling for shoots and it helps me get to know that client better since we get to spend a few days together rather then just the few hours we get together during the shoot. I’m here preping for Amy + Scott’s session tomorrow but they really went beyond my expectations to make sure I was taken care of during my stay in NYC.

The Andaz 5th Ave is my home for the next 2 nights and to this date haven’t stayed at a hotel as modern and sophisticated with the service and hospitality to match. I felt comfortable and taken care of from the very second I set foot in the hotel. Their seamless and casual check-in was refreshing and I was surprise to come back from scouting Brooklyn and other areas of NYC and see an elegantly plated snack tray and a bottle of wine for the evening. I don’t drink but the gesture was very much appreciated. Don’t worry I had plenty to drink since everything that was in the fridge that was not an alcoholic beverage was complimentary, seriously how awesome is that.

Thank you Amy + Scott for all the thought and preparation you put in on my behalf! I can’t wait for our session tomorrow!

The Inn at Perry Cabin | St. Michael’s, MD

The family & I finally got a chance to get away for a few days. I literally had to force us to do this because we have been talking about getting away for several months now and with wedding season quickly approaching it was now or not until Summer time. We picked The Inn at Perry Cabin because we wanted to go somewhere close by and quiet so that we could just escape and do nothing but spend time with Chloe, eat and sleep. Here are some analog exposures we took during our trip. I used our Fujifilm 210 Wide Format camera on this trip. There’s just something about analog film that I continue to love and it just keeps me shooting.

The resort was very comfortable and offered us a cosy room with a fireplace in the room. The view of the water from our balcony was so perfect and tranquil. The service and staff in the hotel were amazingly friendly and felt like family during our short stay. Everything we had to eat was amazing. There are 2 restaurants at the resort and both are stellar however, both are on the pricy side so if you are looking for a quick and cheaper food option i would recommend taking the short drive to town. Our stay was completely off-season and in the middle of the week and a lot of businesses were closed but at the same time there was no wait anywhere we went and it was like the resort, town and surrounding area was our private place to drive around and explore.

We so needed this and are feeling recharged and ready for the up coming wedding season!

Chloe's First Snow.

This year has definitely been the toughest one for us. I knew i had to make the decision to take on fewer clients and pretty much just work fewer weddings. From the beginning of when we started this business i wanted to help and photograph as many couples as i could even if it meant taking away time from my personal life. That’s how important photographing couples’ weddings was for me. I knew right from the start that being asked to photograph someone’s wedding was a complete blessing and honor and i treated every client and wedding that way and still do. However, when Sarah was pregnant with Chloe i knew that i didn’t want Chloe growing up remembering her daddy always working on the weekends and as hard of decision it has been i decided to take on only a little over 1/2 of the clients that you typically did so that i could have more time with my family. Even though that decision was the toughest one i had to make since i have been photographing weddings, when i see how happy Chloe is to play in the snow with her mommy + daddy i know i made the right decision. Being able to photograph her and being there for all her firsts makes everything worth it.
